There are several low-price airlines that fly into Barcelona and surrounding cities. The cheapest alternative tends to be RyanAir, which flies into Girona (approximately 100 kilometers from Banyuls) or Perpignan. Visit www.ryanair.com
To reach Banyuls, you can either drive or take a train. Information about both options is presented below.
Train:
You reach Banyuls by taking trains from almost anywhere within Europe. Information about trains from Spain is available at www.renfe.es and from France at www.sncf.com.
Be aware that train travel from Spain will require you to change coaches at either Portbou or Cerbère. There are times when the train connections do not correspond well. In these situations, it can be easier to take a taxi into Banyuls. The cost of a taxi from either Portbou or Cerbère will be about 20 to 30 Euros.
Car:
Drivers coming from either the north or south should take highway A9/AP-7. From the south, turn off at the first exit after the border (Le Boulou), and follow the signs towards Port Vendres. From the north, turn off at Perpignan Sud. You will soon see a sign for Banyuls-sur-Mer. You will be approaching Banyuls from the north.
You will see the sign for Hôtel le Manoir near the entrance of the city.
Continue into the city towards the open market.
Turn right before the market.
Drive approximately 100 meters.
Turn right again.
Continue to the end of the street (approximately 200 meters).
Turn left.
You have arrived!
There is generally parking available directly in front of Hôtel le Manoir. Alternatively, there is a parking lot at the market (approximately 150 meters away).
